Hi Everybody
I'm almost at checkout for sending flowers. Interestingly I noticed that there are other forums where people are discussing the immigration issues and also where people are effected.
Lets make it a massive campaign. We can have a link on the immigration voice home page with exact details on the address and date (final) and impress on people that it shall work.
I noticed that many Chinese use other forums in Chinese language. In fact I requested one of friends to post these details in their forum as well. May be each one of us can forward the details to others by E-mail or other wise. Try to make 10th July as big day for USCIS leaving all document packages aside but busy handling the roses.
Media would definitely be happy discussing the approach for days and in way discuss the issue as well.
Flowers do bring smile and a little bit of introspection to every one.
Lets do it big way.

All the points you mentioned are valid and sensible from a business perspective.
In case, you didn't read, I said valid legal reasons.

1. Employer does not want file H-1B this year at all.
2. Employer already has 15% workforce on H-1B and does not want to become H-1B dependent employer.
3. This job is permanent and H-1B can be filed only for temporary jobs.

My suggestion would be that probably doctors have discovered metastatic cancer and have give you the prognosis.
For your visa
It seems you have already cleared most hurdles
1) Talk to a immigration lawyer
2) Talk to USCIS and ask for "Humanitarian Expedite". Call or fax them the document ask you doctor to write the letter
3) get media attention: write to local congressman,senator and the local media TV stations to expedite your case
4)Dont delay any day. Once you create an expediate request they are bound to act on it.(by either rejecting it or accepting it). The point is make an official request without delay
In a similar situation i would try to straigten out few things
First is finance Security :
1)Try to transfer control and custody of all financial instruments to you wife name
2)is you wife working if not try to get job on H1b.(not EAD) Cap exempt HIB from university affialted jobs are alsways available or get her to a school on f-1
What does you wife want.She may not want to stay here if she does not have extended family.Talk to her.Ask here
Lastly Get an second opinion from Indian APollo etc they may do life prolonging surgical procedures (which doctors here might not be willing for many reasons ...this will get you enough time that your green card is appoved

Thousands of threads were opened like this and everyday we see new threads.

(2) Pledge with honesty
(3) Join a state chapter and make yourself visible and available to IV.
We can go from there
There is no other way to organize 70k or more people where everyone just open threads, discuss and then open new threads and discuss and ..... it goers on
I say this from experience - there are people working day and night for IVs cause - with a lot of dedication - there are free riders and majority of people are sitting on fence - want to do something but not quite sure what/how /why and are lost opening these threads and discussing.
Channelizing your frustration, your energies into positive energies will help us achieve our goals. So please decide if you want to move forward and do something about it - State chapters is the best route for contributing towards IV stuff

IOs at TSC are responding to the enquiry of your case i.e they give info about name check status.
But in NSC the IOs are not giving any information, they are just saying they can't tell anything.This happened to me two times since last week.Does any one got same experience with NSC?

All 140K GCs are available on Oct 1. However, dates were not current in 2005 and 2006. I think that current dates do not depend on available GCs.
Looks like current dates depend on # submitted AOS's. USCIS is saying that on Jul 2 it has submitted AOS's that exhaust submitted AOS quota.
the availability of dates are determined by DOS after consulting with labor department and USCIS. if the they determine that enough labor applications are pending to fill the entire quota for the year they issue the cut off dates accordingly.
India is allocated only 10,000 visas in all categories(EB1+EB2+EB3). dates will never be current, given around 700K applicants were ready to file. out of the 700K I imagine atleast 35% will be from india, which translate to around 250K applicants from india who are ready to file I-485, india is given 10K , u can do the math and find out for yourself how much time it will take for the dates to be current.

IV website is a board where people of all kinds visit and there is no control over stuff. Just go to any blog site - we see 100 rants and crazy comments as against a few wise talk.
I guess we have to live with it and keep pushing people. Sometimes loud and sometimes gently.
My friend, it is to "push the people" that I am saying all this. How best can we push? Through word of mouth, or thru full campaign?
Another idea: How about restructuring the forums?
In the home page, we promote only those discussions that are important to all, like advocacy.
In next tab, we take on the discussions that are based on individual problems
And all else, can go to the third tab
Also on home page, the following items (just some examples of general interest matter):
- Advocacy day. Donations received vs required.
- Big red button: Donate
- Some links to recent news items on immigration

My wife got her receipt notice today
RD: July 2nd, ND: Aug 6th.
Did the checks get cashed?? I rcvd the receipt notice for both my wife and myself but the checks are not cashed for my wife (I cannot check on my checks that are provided by the company)

I just tried accessing my case status on line and I see the folowing message.
This message is like their Visa Bulletins, 6.00 PM on May 10th,2009?? India, EST, CST, MST, PST, Alaska , Hawaii or china time?
Portions of the CRIS application are unavailable for scheduled maintenance.
We anticipate that the application the will be available by 6:00 PM on May 10th, 2009.

Giving Pay stubs instead of FUTURE employment letter ?
That may be a RFE and then eventually you have to give that letter and do more bargaining with your employer...
I am clarifying myself again. I did not mean to suggest that pay stubs can be used in lieu of FUTURE employment letter.
In any case, why not change your employer after 6 months of filing for your I-485. From the way they are treating you, you should be the first one to invoke AC21.
I don't think you will get a RFE within 6 months, but of course you never know. But if we assume normal processing times, I am sure your new employer would give you a letter. However, do consult with an attorney before changing jobs to make sure the job is "same" or "similar".

we got I-140 and I-485 approval email on August 19th; Card production ordered email on August 21st; got the physical approvals and cards in the mail on August 25th - whole thing took a week.
